After circumstances had left this poor little guy homeless and without a consistent source of sustenance, a passer-by took notice of his unfortunate situation and reported it over to the guys at the Hope For Paws organization. Not ones to delay a rescue operation after receiving such a phone call, the people at Hope For Paws made their way to the location where the dog was last spotted and found him within minutes of arriving. The dog was simply minding his own business and didn’t seem particularly happy to see either of the people from Hope For Paws.

There was a gate between the two rescuers and the dog, so they tried to use the cheeseburger that they had brought to lure him out into the open, but it was too difficult to get him to trust them. Eventually, the dog came out of the enclosed space and he looked like it took every ounce of self-control to prevent himself from bolting, probably because he sensed that the rescuers would go after him. He decided to stay in the gated space and try to wait it out, but one of the rescuers saw this as an opportunity to secure the dog using a gentle snare.

Frightened, the dog tried with all his might to remove the snare from his neck while both of the rescuers worked to convince him that everything was going to be okay and that there was no need for him to panic. When the gentle voices failed to pacify him, they opted to sit with him for a few minutes while giving him pieces of the cheeseburger that they had brought, to show him that they were not a threat to him. Eventually, the dog began to relax, and they were able to bring him to their vehicle.

He was long overdue for some trimming, a hot bath, and a good meal. And now he was going to get all of them — plus a new home!
